Reflections on BCVS I and II

My Initial Expectations:-When I first enrolled in BCVS-I and BCVS-II, I assumed the courses would mainly focus on basic communication rules and formalities that are often repeated in many subjects. I expected them to be theoretical and limited to simple ideas about speaking and writing. However, as the course progressed, my perspective changed completely. I realized that communication and professional values are not just academic topics they are essential life skills that shape how we interact, collaborate, and grow in both personal and professional environments.
Skills and Concepts I Mastered:-One of the most important things I developed through these courses was effective communication. I learned that communication is not only about speaking clearly but also about listening carefully, understanding different perspectives, and presenting ideas in a structured way. This skill helped me become more confident when sharing my thoughts in discussions and presentations.Another key concept I learned was professional ethics and teamwork. Through various activities and group interactions, I understood how important it is to respect others’ opinions, cooperate with team members, and work toward a common goal. These experiences helped me realize that success in any field depends not only on technical knowledge but also on how well we work with others.
The course also improved my presentation and writing abilities. I learned how to organize my ideas logically, communicate them effectively, and present them in a way that captures attention. These skills are especially important for students in technical fields, where explaining complex ideas clearly is a valuable ability.
Personal Highlight:-The part of the course that resonated with me the most was the interactive communication activities and discussions. These activities encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone and express my opinions in front of others. At first, it felt challenging, but over time it helped me build confidence and improve my speaking abilities.
What made these activities meaningful was that they reflected real-life situations where communication plays a key role. They showed me that confidence, clarity, and active participation can make a significant difference in how effectively we connect with others.
Conclusion:-Overall, BCVS-I and BCVS-II turned out to be much more valuable than I initially expected. The courses helped me strengthen my communication, teamwork, and presentation skills while also building my confidence. The lessons I learned here will not only help me during my academic journey but will also remain useful throughout my professional career and personal development.
